Gifts codes are like a gift card for like Walmart or some other place, it would be great to have gift codes because my brother has a birthday in 2013 and i thought that would be a good present (gift code as in buying the game for someone) some codes like these 1h3t543s but what ever you want

I didn't really have any plans to directly support gift codes but I think maybe paypal already has things like gift certificates.

At some future time, give purchases is probably a good idea I'm just not sure how I'd hack it into my e-commerce stuff yet.
