Title: npc questions
Post by: ebag51 on March 27, 2013, 01:19:52 PM
npc question time  :D
will human npcs get angry if avian players mess around on their roofs and fly all over their roof tops?

Title: Re: npc questions
Post by: Rath T'iam on March 27, 2013, 02:09:09 PM
I hope so. I want to fly away as angry NPC's wave brooms around yelling at me. :D

Title: Re: npc questions

I think NPCs would get upset with players messing around on their roof (if they noticed) regardless of race.  How they got up there is beside the point.

If there was a person crawling around on your roof right now, you'd probably call the police.

This is sorta related, but will there be light weight "stealth gear"? That makes you quieter so people don't notice you as easily? Or could you make an "invisibility suit"?
I love the idea of breaking into people's homes so.... *innocent grin*

There must be something or being a thief/assassin would be pretty lame.

would race affect what random odd jobs human towns give you like:
deliver letter for avian or fix my furniture for simian?

Maybe.  It's more likely to be based on how the NPC feels about you, though.

What would be the process for a avian player to join an avian tribe?

Cool your jets just a bit.  I occasionally step away from the computer for minutes at a time to eat and/or remind my family what I look like.

It may not be possible.  It would depend on a specific set of circumstances that a) I'm not sure I will be able to make work, and b) wouldn't be any fun if I told you.

We're talking about a people who excommunicate their own family/tribesmen when they are wounded enough that they can no longer fly.

They only rarely interact with and occasionally mate with other avian tribes.  You'd have to find the exact right situation and be in the right place at the right time.

Example work stay in inn constantly save money for new equipment

I think so... but how boring. :)

That's the last question I will answer on these topics tonight because I have other Mythruna work to do and it's becoming a little tedious.

This question was already answered.  Read about the property system and I'm pretty sure it was eventually covered in that thread.

Probably not.  That would require an AI advanced enough to understand what you tell them.

I think if you read the post on the property system it mentions that you can't build in a town unless you somehow get a plot, ie: a small area to build.

could a player make a city with 2 really contrasting races of npcs in it?
example having both a lot of reptilian and avian outcasts in it?

Title: Re: npc questions
Post by: Moonkey on March 29, 2013, 02:29:22 PM
I don't think a play could just bring some other race into a society and make it thrive into 50/50 race/race thing. It would naturally have to be like that.

I mean if it's a specific sword with a name, sure, you'd have to fence it... if it's a bunch of bread, who would know? Or a broom, :|.... pesky guards always got me for that... we would all have to admit that.
Maybe we could have it as it to be possible, but without getting to far into the "actions" but have the NPC's be sterile against all races but their own? Or have them sterile overall! xD

I'd hope so! Maybe it could be like the family mod for MC? But OFC different.... They also have it so you can marry them off to other families too! It's really neat, but a bit buggy with the chores....

Sure!

No :P

I'd hope that if you played for 30 IG years your character would die.... I realise dwarves and elves live MUCH longer than the other races, but they didn't have as good as medicine as we do now, so they would only live as long as humans did... if they didn't treat themselves, or had food.

ANYWAY, my responces are my own opinion, I don't really know. And remember, our characters are gods coming down in a mortal form. We can respawn even! Hmm, that would be interesting... PAUL! Add in Player-NPCS. NPCS that act like Players (Runnin' aroun' and buildn' houses and having the same strength/powers as a player would) would awesome! AND THEY CAN RESPAWN! AWE YEAH! Herobrine and Brinehero as two names, +10,000 Karma points for that Paul, 10,000 points....

Title: Re: npc questions
Post by: pspeed on April 15, 2013, 09:13:43 PM
The plan is for players to age but at a common rate that is not based on their race.  a) you will age more slowly.  b) you only age when you are playing anyway... so in multiplayer or in single player played  by multiple characters, your calendar time life could be even longer.

Player-characters are also likely sterile since they are not really from the world and not _really_ a normal member of the race.

PAUL, I hope your wife is okay :'( let's all hold hands and pray..

Quote
Dear Lord,

We pray for Paul's wife, we hope that her brain surgery works out, that she is a great woman and she deserves great things in her life, there is no reason to allow bad things to happen to great people, and I hope that you help her, Paul, and his kids on this event.

In your wonderful name, I pray, Amen.

No pun intended, Paul, I hope this helps.

So, its not a tumor? That is a hell of a risk for a VR mod for Mythruna Paul. I got my fingers crossed for her.

It is a tumor.  The stuff that was left after last time grew again into a marble-sized tumor.

I don't know.  We have to travel down to another state for the surgery when they finally schedule it.  We'll be down there for at least a week.

We had a dog with 5-8 inch tumors on his belly. Nothing life threatening though. But, if it's inside the head, that's threatening.

North Carolina.  Duke University has like the best brain cancer stuff in the country or something.

I don't think Paul uses a laptop... He doesn't seem like the laptop kind of guy. But if he were going to have a laptop, I'd imagine him with the suitcase sized ones.

I have a laptop for work.  It's pretty beefy.

I could work on Mythruna while I'm away but that doesn't mean I will have time.  After all, I'll have two kids with me and a wife in the hospital.  I will try to keep up on the forums, e-mail, etc... have remote access to the server, and so on.

...usually, I spend my free time being exhausted on these trips.

I don't know.  And it largely depends on how my wife's brain surgery goes, anyway.
I sincerely hope everything goes OK, Paul.

She hasn't had the surgery yet.  That's next week.

Well, I'll be praying, too. Brain surgery has to be tough to go through. :-\

Last time they woke her up for part of it so they could be sure they weren't messing with the wrong parts of her brain.  I can think of few things quite as terrifying as being awake for your own brain surgery.
