It's an aprilfools joke. How else do you go through 1 billion+ videos with only 2/1 people in 2 years.
Edit: I have a feeling they're going to choose the video they made about this whole thing. That would be funny.

Plus, as I understood the joke, once they pick the best video then they can shut youtube down because it's purpose is "done". Smiley
