For years, my family has had a nary untouched unlimited data plan. We rarely use it, but today I got a text message saying we're being throttled. They don't want me going on vacation, I suppose.

Reminds me of back in the old "dial up" days where I had an "unlimited" plan through my ISP.  But they would kick my connection if it was idle for an hour or whatever so I setup an autodial to reconnect on drop.  Within a week they'd banned my account and I had to call them to come to an agreement on what they meant by "unlimited" because it certainly wasn't the book definition. Wink

If AT&T didn't throttle, the money they lost in law suits could have been spent to handle the heavy users instead of complain about them... Why they no be smart.
