after downloading, take it out of your download files and put it somewhere else....i'm no good at mac's (dont like em) so i'm not sure where you would place them. just take the main downloaded file and move it somewhere else...then try and use the .exe Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Blackslash on October 27, 2012, 03:37:50 PM no folder just the application

Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Sean on October 27, 2012, 04:40:04 PM Use Linux?
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: pspeed on October 27, 2012, 06:42:57 PM It's possible that your graphics card is not capable of running Mythruna. I don't know anything about Macs so I can't offer further assistance on trouble shooting.
Note also that the OpenGL library that Mythruna uses (lwjgl) has problems on Macs recently. Though if you can run Minecraft then that shouldn't be the issue. But Mythruna requires more advanced graphics than Minecraft. Generally there will at least be an error pop-up, though. Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Blackslash on October 28, 2012, 09:45:32 PM I found out that it requires a whole new computer my friend got a new mac and we downloaded it and worked although no computer for me :'( :(
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: pspeed on October 28, 2012, 11:57:59 PM I found out that it requires a whole new computer my friend got a new mac and we downloaded it and worked although no computer for me :'( :( That's too bad. I've seen some pretty old Macs run it, though. Maybe it's a graphics driver issue or something. I'm completely clueless about Macs, though. Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Michael on October 29, 2012, 01:40:30 PM ive used a mac before. But i never used it for advanced things.
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Blackslash on October 29, 2012, 09:48:40 PM ow well...
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Blackslash on October 29, 2012, 09:59:54 PM i was really looking forward to playing ;(
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: pspeed on October 29, 2012, 10:04:28 PM i was really looking forward to playing ;( One of two things happened: 1) An error popped up telling you what the error was, or: 2) an error.log was written to the same directory that contains the mythruna.db, mythruna.exe, etc.. Since the amount I know about Macs would fit in a child's thimble, I can't help further than that. Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Blackslash on October 29, 2012, 10:06:40 PM Nothing like that just crashes on stsrtup
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: pspeed on October 29, 2012, 11:01:46 PM Nothing like that just crashes on stsrtup Before the settings window even opens? If so then it might be that you don't even have Java installed. Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Blackslash on October 30, 2012, 09:39:34 AM We need java
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Iggyjeckel on October 30, 2012, 10:46:51 AM If you dont have java it will not work, java is a free download
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: pspeed on October 30, 2012, 11:27:40 AM If you dont have java it will not work, java is a free download Macs used to come with Java installed already until very recently. Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Michael on October 30, 2012, 02:07:17 PM i wonder what happened...

Try installing an older version, or get help from Help.com when you get to java.com and select to download it, on a sidebar it says "looking for java 6?" Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Sean on November 02, 2012, 03:00:02 PM We live in a Java 7 world. Also make sure you aren't downloading the Windows versing if you are on a Mac.

I believe it has an auto detect.Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: pspeed on November 02, 2012, 05:01:51 PM Apple used to provide their own Java until very recently. Unfortunately, I don't know how to trouble-shoot these problems on a Mac and I keep hoping another Mac user might be watching these forums.
However, I think Java 7 is the only version you can get from java.com for Macs because prior to that Apple supplied their own version. However, it seems like this Mac might be really really old... so maybe it even predates Apple's Java. We haven't been provided any specs about the machine so I'm only guessing. Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: Blackslash on November 03, 2012, 10:33:08 PM its 5 years old
Title: Re: Mythruna Post by: ayoriceball on November 04, 2012, 01:24:23 AM its 5 years old Perhaps you should discuss this with someone who knows and understands Java or Macs? This is obviously an issue of the computer itself, and I think there's other people on the internet who have the expertise to easily handle this. |
