Title: Stormy Snowglobes
Post by: Rayblon on September 04, 2015, 04:33:02 AM
This is just an idea that sprung up last night. What if there was a snowglobe like object that you could make that reflected the next storm to hit an area? It would be an interesting trinket, though it may also be more trouble than it's worth to code. xD

I can see this being of use because a heavy storm would probably be a very dangerous thing if you're miles away from your home or a town. You could plan each day according to the forecast... just like real life! :D

Since Avians will have some kind of weather sense, there will probably be some 'magic-mechnical' way to get the same info.  Essentially it will be some way to watch the same variables that provide input into whether it storms or not.

Before I forget... If a biome specific storm like, say, a sandstorm or some elemental tempest moves into another biome, would it dissipate or keep going?

The plan is that it would keep going so to speak... the conditions that caused the whether would continue to move and evolve.  A sand storm wouldn't travel far on non-sand but the winds would.

A better example is a rain storm that if it moved over an icy tundra might turn to freezing rain if the conditions there were right for that.

well it depends on what your looking for. there are weather meters, berometers, thermometers, rain gauges.

good chance something similar to whatever your thinking of is probably somewhere in this list.

and can be added into the game.
