Title: Player delivered mail?
Post by: Rath T'iam on August 29, 2013, 09:40:26 AM
Could there be a system so that players could become a "mailman"?
My idea: there's a post office in most towns and city's...if they send a package or letter it would take x amount of time to get it to the recipient Say, an in game week. But if you work there you can deliver their mail yourself (and other people's stuff) for a bit of coin?
Would this work or is there just going to be a boring automatic mail system? Or a not so boring portal system? Or just a courier network? is there even going to be a mail system? :P

Well if during the travel from place to place we encounter some sort of enemy, or if by delivering the missive we could unlock something (uh... let's say, the guy at who we delivered the mail ask us more help for some to do job [in other words he unlock a kinda-quest]).
In this way it could be interesting, in my opinion. Maybe not a overused feature of the game, but still something to start with if we want to get our first money. Or if we're bored.

Not sure about this.  I think for player to player it might be a little tedious but maybe there is some parcel service for NPCs so there is always a ready supply of "jobs".  After all, commerce happens between towns and cities on a regular basis.

As far as the rest goes, the plan is for all of the libraries to be linked by portals.  It will be an expensive way to travel, though.
