I don't think I understand the question.  Maybe others do.

I understand the question but I don't have an answer.

He is asking how does one host a server that other computers will be able to connect to over the internet (or LAN?). My guess would be to find the IP adress and link a port to that, and on the other computer, specify IP address (in the same way one would use the website as server) and use the port you created.

However, this is complete speculation since I haven't even though of it yet  Wink Paul?

You have to know what your IP address or host name is to the outside world.  You also have to map the right ports through your firewall so that they can connect to you.

Alternately, some sites will let you setup a redirected host name (like I use for mine with game-host.org) and will automatically detect your IP address.   If you go to game-host.org they will explain it better maybe.  The service is free last I checked.

For you, opening the ports on your router is probably the hardest part.  If you don't know how to do this then setting up and running a server may be beyond your abilities right now.

*found the thread* ok, I am going to start a youtube series using a stand-alone server (it is up for me only) i understand giving the privilege of administrator COMMAND: 'grant 0 administrator' and it gives me more commands to use. but what is the command for giving myself towns, cities, ect?
please provide a list of commands, but please don't waste your time defining it infinitely.
