i don't think being able to change the character name for multiplayer is asking too much so in the near future updates please include that as an option when playing multiplayer (also my current character name is stupid and i really wanna change it  :-\)

Heheh... the former leads to the latter. :)

This is relatively low on my list of priorities because it's a lot of UI work for a relatively little used feature.  It will come but probably not soon.

If you want, I can change your character name, though.  Just tell me which user ID it is and I will change it.  You can PM me if you don't want to broadcast your user ID.

You can't change your name on many other games that are multiplayer >.>

Tribes Ascend actually asks you to pay money to change your name.

Most of them either don't have the option, or ask money.

What I heard Minecraft said they were doing was that they weren't actually changing the 'username' because all the databases for servers will get jacked up. They would only change the 'display name' :)

And that's all I'll be doing, too... well, in this case, it's the "character name" versus the "player name".  And eventually you'll be able to have more than one character anyway.
