Title: Can't play since yesterday
Post by: Tamarie on April 29, 2014, 10:38:30 PM
Sorry, Paul, but is your server out of whack? Since yesterday, I sometimes get a UDP blocked error, but most often the game freezes when I hit the CONNECT button. My error log:

I just reset the server.  It might help.

Also, because of the storms the network connection has been a little dodgy.

Thanks. It works now. I wasn't able to try earlier today because my area's internet was out, too. We had no storms, though. You live where the flooding is?

Yeah, but I'm on a hill.  :)  I have some small ponds where my backyard used to be, though.  (Northern VA)

Sorry again, Paul, but I haven't been able to play multi-player the last few days. Have had a grand time in single player, though. My error log:

Everything seemed to be running ok on this end but I reset the server anyway.  Maybe it fixes it.

I look forward to someday running this server not on Windows where I think networking will be 100x more stable.

I did all kinds of things to my computer to get back to multi-player, and nothing worked until my internet slowed waaaay down, so I restarted my modem. That's all it took. Yay!

It's nice when the problems turn out to be simple... even if it wasn't a simple journey to get there. :)

So true. And you get the satisfaction of solving a mystery.
