Mythruna

That's a thing... and it's pretty bleak, as you'd imagine (https://www.reddit.com/r/Mythruna/). Currently, I'm trying to contact the owner of the subreddit to transfer ownership to a more active user. Who'd be in on taking a managerial position there despite the lack of activity? Would Paul be interested in making it official if all goes well?

I've tried PMing the person even before the account went inactive, but I didn't get a reply.

Ah... Well, I'll be petitioning Reddit to transfer the ownership rights to me, I guess.

I don't mind making it "official" as long as that requires little effort on my part right now.  Barely keeping my head above water these days.

It will be hands free on your end, for the most part(aside from some possible curation). The best part is that this will keep people that don't use the forum or other outlets(i can't even begin to imagine how many people use reddit and tumblr as their only social media sites) in the know.

I'll update on this when the subreddit has changed hands.

Early update here... I learned that I am REALLY good at Redditing considering how new to the scene I am. It's a little empowering. Heh heh.

Sort of.  It's usually only 'good news' from a certain strange perspective.  "Good news everyone!  We have a new job that requires you to crawl through the mud in your underwear..."  or whatever.

I think the concept is that its either
A. good news cause its a job regardless and in most episodes they screw up so bad its a surprise they get any business at all anymore.
or its
B.Its good news cause its not him going off on dangerous missions and he gets to send someone else so its good news for him.

Quick question- Does the "server messages" box in the login menu actually do anything? If not, then what is it planned to do?

It does not do anything yet.  It's meant for servers to be able to provide info to the person connecting.  So you could see "Hey, server will  be down starting XX:XX" or other kind of messages the admin wants the players to know before they fully connect.  Could even include things like "Special even happening at blah-blah." or whatever.

... Or the rules of the server. :P

Exactly.  The point is that it can change often if needed.

I now own the mythruna subreddit, found here (https://www.reddit.com/r/Mythruna). I'll definitely be taking time to spruce this corner of the internet up a bit.

If anyone knows CSS and can help me create a stylesheet for the sub, that'd be awesome... Because I'm a biologist, not a web developer! :D

Hmm... come september 15th, I may have little time on my hands. I'll be taking on two more classes in addition to my current bio class. I'll still keep the forum's heart beating of course. I can't stop myself there. :p

Anywho, I'll change the subreddit to 'official' when Paul hops in.

I think I figured out why we're getting lots more visitors than usual... maybe. I've been informing people about the situation with Mythruna all over YT and the like, linking the forums when appropriate. The analytics of the subreddit have dramatically increased since we stepped in, but I'm not sure how many of those people are coming to the forums. I'll update the sub regularly with Paul's blog posts unless he takes the reigns, which should reaffirm that Mythruna isn't dead. :D

I can't really see where the forum traffic comes from but the site traffic gives me a nice display of referrers when available:

Just FYI, I am still lurking and have subscribed to the subreddit. I spend a lot of my internet time there. VR or Bust!

About the CSS, I have something that looks pretty good, but there are some bugs I have to figure out and I haven't had too much time. Overall right now it's a good middleground between the forums theme and reddits default theme so users will feel comfortable with the interface. One thing I would love is a Mythruna Snoo, if anybody has some idea of what it could be, or has any kind of artistic ability, that would be cool.

A dragon with a stick that has a ping pong ball on top of it taped to its head would make for a lovely snoo imo. As with many things involving art, though... I am deficient so I can't act on that... Or we could tape ping ping ball sticks to chickensaurus' and take pictures. o3o

Heh heh... The fact that we have a nice Reddit stylesheet (in the works) is pretty awesome when there are some really huge games that don't even have one at all.

Alright, you get a chickensaurus and a green screen and we'll go from there.

That'll have to wait ~10 years. I'm not kidding either. :D
