Title: Mac Startup
Post by: Loknik12 on February 13, 2012, 04:14:06 PM
So I downloaded the newest version for the Mac OSX distribution (20111223). I went to the game and entered in all the display options then hit ok. It then closed and did not open anything. Please help!

Somewhere, it would have dumped an error-1325255.log or a client.log file.  I'm not sure where it sticks these on a Mac.

I would need to see those to be able to help.  I can say that there are some Mac users who run without issue... so hopefully there is a way to get working.

Heres what I got... installer[6395] run postflight script for Client. Was that it? Or was it something else?

There should be actual files saved on the disk somewhere.  One will be a client.log file.  The other is an error-####.log file where #### is some unique number.

You might not always have an error log but you should always have a client.log file somewhere.

These should be saved in the "current working directory" of the application.  I don't know what that is on a Mac.

Ok, I found them, I currently have six... error-1329173351259.log,error-1329173362329.log,
error-1329174081830.log, error-1329174100693.log, error-1329174872126.log, error-1329182840138.log... and on a mac to get them, you need to go to the application, right click, click show package contents, click "contents", "Resources", then click "Java", and they should be in there.

Ok, can you attach one of the error files or something so I can see what the error is?

Thanks.

It looks like it is failing to find OpenGL or something on your system.  I've asked around to some other Mac developers that I know but I'm still waiting for a response.

There is some indication that this is because I'm using an older version of the lwjgl library.  I plan to put a new release of Mythruna out soon and maybe I will try to upgrade that library first.

Thanks for your patience.

By the way, this should have been fixed in the release I posted last night.

Let me know if you have better luck or not.

I apologize, I mistakenly thought that the libraries that I use had already upgraded to the newer lwjgl lib where this was fixed.

This is because the last version of lwjgl OpenGL libraries accidentally built it to require Mac OSX 10.6.

I will update when I can... hopefully soon.
