16  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Seasons on: August 18, 2012, 07:09:57 PM
So somewhat off-topic, are the names of the months related to the seasons, or did you just make up names? They seem like they can fit into a different language explaining the seasons.

And while I still don't know why my last name is ironic, I will at least reply here to say that I'm officially back.

I have some day job work to catch up on but I hope to be back into some amount of Mythruna code as early as tonight.

Sorry for bumping the thread but I too have been gone a long while.

You last name happens to be speed but your complaining about how slow things are (which isn't so speedy). Sorry, I won't leave anymore comments just sitting there like that.

I'm guessing Mythruna only uses a single core?

By the way, if anyone is at Busch Gardens Williamsburg on Saturday and sees a guy walking around with a Mythruna shirt on... say hi. Smiley

epic  Grin

Anyway, your last name is ironic.

I have to say congrats on your websites. Did you create all of that on your own or with a team, because there are some interesting things in there especially the first link.

Yes, I know the virtue of patience very well. Doesn't mean I have to like it and not talk about how much it sucks if it is bothering me.

Heheh... yeah, no one is more impatient than I am, I think. Smiley

We spend hours playing as paul spends hours working. Who do you think wants to reach the finish line first?
22  General Category / General Discussion / Re: The human mind: Sound. on: August 05, 2012, 06:23:00 PM
Its because your mind finds a way to think (deaf people aren't stupid.) For us who could hear, we imprint the idea of the melody into our brain, and depending how strong we can retrieve ideas back (like the guys who can play after hearing once or likewise the guy who could draw a picture after seeing a city once), we can recreate the music. Think of it, music always originated from somewhere, and people complicated it over time. How did that first guy hear music in his mind and appreciate it before it came to the world. Our minds innovate (and thankfully paul is innovating mythruna  Wink)

Since I just finished high school, I can tell you what people have been studying. C++ is the most common beginner code, since it places a strong foundation and isn't very hard to program simple things. You learning html and css is good but understand that these aren't programming codes but instead website codes. Java is also studied early but usually those people say it does not make since so if you want to learn it, be sure to learn the base thoroughly because you need some knowledge before you can make a good basic program.

What you should do at your age is understand the boolean language, since that is universal to binary codes (pretty much all). It would make life a lot easier later on understanding how to make code flow to an end efficiently. I'de say javascript isn't necessary right now unless you want to make website or browser extensions/mods or if you are working on specific website things....

java and javascript are pretty similar. You usually use java in a program because it is more intensive and javascript in website (thus html/css) to run little codes since html/css cannot run codes.

The thing about java, javascript, and groovy is that they are all object oriented. You aren't telling the computer to do this and that but setting up object-type-things and give them properties and through them you can tell the computer what to do. Obviously this is very basic and I only touched on java but this should gets things in a rough order.

yeah but after all nobody told me witch settings should i take ! (and i'm not english i don't speak english very well, but it wasn't a reason to reply in this topic only for joke)

moonkey was referring to the picture, not your words. The words in the picture were blurry and hard to read. you're english is fine.

Hey Moonkey, you discovered greek!
28  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Effects/Questions on survival. on: August 02, 2012, 09:16:32 PM
Won't heat effects and mirages simply run along the same basic rules as reflective water, just placed on different surfaces and perspectives. I don't think it will be too intensive unless paul wants to go all out with intense distortions. Also, mists should be in the same category. and fog....  Anyway, making the different biomes real may make it an aesthetic priority for paul to include some of these features.

Mixing in some of your light properties into these heat effects and other distortions would make epic effects. Your hopefully going to have fun tweaking properties on that one.

About food, why would the game host a farm and well if the player is immune to hunger/thirst. Seems those are necessary, just how much. Is it going to be proportional to the intake a town would normally take or is that too much for a player to take care of?

Wow, this is actually coming along quickly. Is it easy after hitting the initial barrier of "how"?
30  General Category / Tech Support / Memory on: July 25, 2012, 11:04:28 PM
Just to open this back up, have you made progress towards a fix for those stubborn computers that won't allocate the memory (red memory). I'm open to give any info you may need, and I know there are a few others with the same problem that isn't much of a problem.

By the way, would the client memory be the same memory used when setting up a server, so red memory is sufficient for client but not too good for multiplayer, or am I just mistaken.
