I finally got the graphics card bit working all now, and fallout 3 runs great. I am just confused as of to why Java fails to install, and the infamous "The wizard failed to install" message comes up. I have looked up the problem, but my case is different: There is an "installed" java folder but yet *it doesn't come up in a list of installed programs. Because of this, I am forced to delete the folder and start over, and the same thing happens. Minecraft/mythruna is dependent on java.

I hope this is the last time I need to ask for help, so can anyone?

Alright, I have a functioning computer now, (finally) and this step is 5 steps forward, but only 1 step back.  Lastly, the computer does not recognize the video card, and attempts to install nvidia drivers for the card have yielded the same results: the driver is not compatible with the hardware. The card's fan spins, so its getting power. I have looked up the problem but have gotten no useful information; so what is the problem?

guess where I'm posting this from

Currently, my computer is at an install screen for vista and the only option I am given is to "collect information" and the next step is installing windows. I'll try to explore my options at this state, as I can exit the installation

I download the latest drivers for Vista32 and put them onto a USB, and at the "Install Windows" screen i browse to the drivers and if the drivers are compatible in each selected folder (that doesn't have a subfolder) they show up in a list. There are 3 things that happen when I install a driver:

1. When i selected the audio driver to install, it began to install and after about 30 seconds., the bar stopped repeating and it went back to the list of the one audio driver. I don't know if it installed or not

2. When i installed the LAN driver, after "installing" it said: "No new devices could be found. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media."

3. When i select a potential driver folder it says: "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK"

One step forward...

So, I got a windows vista disc and managed to get it onto usb and install it onto my computer. Now, I just need to get the necessary drivers for windows vista and my Asus P5GC-MX/1333 motherboard. I am absolutely confused as of to what drivers are 'necessary' and where to download them.
I believe this is my final step in this 'one step forward and two steps back' computer upgrading process.

Any help?

Jedi Knight engine = Quake engine, Star Trek Elite Forces 1 = same ol' quake 3, Star Trek Elite Force 2 = modified quake 3 engine.

The sheath controls remind me fondly of Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/ Outcast or Dark forces 2

Seeing as how the future of Mythruna will be similar to Skyrim, I wanted to state my disposition on Skyrim's combat system and what I dont want Mythruna to develop into regarding combat.
In Skyrim, I occasionally found myself fighting a high level enemy and having to resort to frequently open my items and "clutch" on potions depending on how much time I have in milliseconds to switch menus. Getting better stuff in the game is how I would get past this, but the system always seemed broken due to its simple nature. On the contrary, I fondly recall the Kingdom Hearts system whereas you couldn't access the pause menu during combat and had to use the command deck/shortcuts without stopping or slowing down the battle.

I think Mythruna's combat should have some combat mechanic that makes sword fighting not like Skyrim where the player takes loose swings at sword sponges; one thing that always aggrivated me is that I could never just stab enemies or know when/how cinematic finishers would occur.
As for inbattle item usage, I think having a keyboard item mapping system, example, where players could press a key and use a health potion and not stop/slow the flow of Mythruna, at least when combat systems are taken into further priority and not right away.

this is where PS3/PS4 indie games differenciate from Xbox 360... whereas games were just cheap silver dollar games that were practically thrown up and put onto the marketplace by cheap devs...

I wonder if other PS3 indie devs started on PC from Java, and had to rewrite the code, and also if PS4 will use the same devkit... maybe if this is true then you could probably get quick advice on how to do it.
this escapes me, so I cannot be sure if any of this is valid

...the PS4 debuts. I remember talking to Paul/talking to you about Mythruna appearing on the indie games selection... I think that Mythruna being there in the first place is a large step, but it seems like something to work up to... eventually.

whoa

Windows XP is just... I love it out of all of the other OS choices. Windows 7 drives me insane over its lack of "permission" limiting you to doing NOTHING AT ALL because you need PERMISSION from the SYSTEM OWNER, but god forbid the system owner isn't connected to a central network of accounts. (I'M NOT A SCHOOL, WINDOWS 7) Even worse than windows 7 is windows 7 starter edition... not even going to go there.
Windows XP isn't total crap and it balances the original windows 98/2000 and windows vista feel. The shininess of vista/7 only cloaks the lack of control... but thank god its shiny.
XP
