I know this is an old thread but Its something that is already here, so I guess a recycling is in order.

I think the server is down again. I keep trying to log into the online session and it times out on me.

I tried rebooting my computer, turning my internet off and on again. I just keep getting the mythruna window briefly freezing after I log in,
and then giving me an error message, telling me the online session has timed out.

Is the server down yet again or is mythruna just broken on my side?

Lol it's like I'm watching paint dry.

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't really have a set reference to tell apart the "muddy rogue" block spacing and the mythruna version and the concept was really stressing me out. Had to take a break for a bit.

I have that disorder where if something stresses me out too much, I have a little minor mental break down for a bit.
It isn't pretty.

But break over, I am back now and I am ready to finish the tavern.

feel free to view the progress I've made to the tavern so far.
I think I figured out the block spanning situation.
Just had to understand how to extend the block length outward a bit to part the seams more fluidly.

The rest will come later.

Paul Speed, I hope I'm not out of line suggesting this, but in development of this game,
you might want to look at another game that is currently out, if you have the resources to do so.

It is a minecraft rip-off for the tablet, titled "survivalcraft".
I suggest viewing this for a few reasons.

First off, the different types of wall types.
There are several different versions such as brick and stone, both full block and thin versions that seem to be a third the thickness.
But also there are thin fences as well. Both made out of metal and stone.
The stone ones are really fascinating as they seem to be thin stone walls held up by little stone pillars evenly set up every couple of blocks. the metal ones seem to mostly resemble gothic wrought iron fences.

Then there are the plants. The real reason I am mentioning this. A variety of bushes, trees, flowers ect.. that you can plant with a seed, and given there is nothing obstructing the sunlight, it will grow to it's full potential in a day or two. Much easier to grow an oak or a pine by just tossing down a seed and waiting a couple days rather than building each tree by hand, which right now is the only way to get new trees on mythruna.

Please feel free to peruse my suggestions at your leisure, and thank you for listening.

"Scroll Wheel; comma, and period keys: Alternates between blocks in build mode and the blueprint menu, scroll wheel zooms in and out in the map." Taken from the handbook.

Your new development videos on youtube suggest otherwise.

That was something he did for his kids in like a week though.

Well then he did an impressive  amount of work in a rapid speed of time.
Because those videos look like a significant amount of game update progress.

Also, it took me awhile to understand your meaning, but you are referring to the left and right arrow buttons right next to the shift key correct?
Those are the ones that change the block type?

I dunno what half of what you said means, but I would love to see gravity magic.
Yay! floating islands in the sky!

Gravity is a planned energy. The nature of the post was a discussion about how weather affects things. If you have a fireball in the rain, it'd make sense that it'll fizzle and make lots of steam. That's what I was talking about.

Well in that case, I'm not sure how much weather would effect magic, but I guess it would have to be a lot.
A little drizzle of rain probably wouldn't do much but sizzle and evaporate upon contact. Would have to take a serious downpour, and then conjuring up a fireball is like lighting a match or activating a lighter.
It's not gonna do much good if the equipment is all wet. in this case, your hand.

Gravity magic likely would only be effected by heavy sky weather like strong winds or lightning strikes.
unless you want to make an impromptu river or a cascading waterfall off the edge, I can't imagine rain doing much to a floating sky island.
But strong winds might make it topsy turvy and enough directed lightning strikes might blow it to pieces.

I'm interested to see how magic interacts with weather; rain being converted to sleet or coating terrain in ice within cold fields would be cool. Gravity magic being enhanced directionally by wind, electricity backfiring but being more powerful in the rain, fire and heat magic creating lots of steam at the cost of effectiveness, etc.

I dunno what half of what you said means, but I would love to see gravity magic.

I was thinking that healing magic should be less effective on fresh wounds.

Or just construct and use a medkit. Get some handy wipes to clean out the wound.
Then just putting on some bandages and some anticeptic cream and something to stitch or staple the wound shut aughta do the trick. maybe add some painkillers for the sissies.

To add onto the syrinx thing, that could add a new ability to the arsenal of reptilians, since it allows for mimickry, they could lure sound sensitive mobs and such, maybe. It's such a powerful adaptation for a sapient species capable of getting into the minds of their prey that it's somewhat difficult to not think of them with it(esp. since their livelihood is in hunting).

I don't know about reptilians but there is a myth I read about once,
about one of those really wide trees that can do that.
Might have been an oak or a weeping willow.
But it was one of those really fat trees with the wide outstretched branches.
Anyways..  It had some sort of knothole at it's base near the roots where it would mimic words from so people would investigate. Sometimes coming from a mile off cause the mimic voice could echo pretty well.

When people who found the tree, got close to the hole where they thought the voice was coming from,
the tree would suck them in like a vacuum and eat them alive with several circular rows of razor sharp pointy teeth descending into the hole.
Kinda like one of those grinder machines or a wood chipper might have.

Soo the mythruna public server Q/A menu only says to use the scroll wheel on a mouse to change block type.
I don't have one. So how do I change block type without a mouse?

I'm still here. Just ran out of ideas on what to say. Still trying to figure out that whole motivation thing too.

I guess it's been  a while since i asked, so... anything new development wise?

No, unfortunately.  Life has me by the scruff of the neck and is wiping my face on the floor.

Your new development videos on youtube suggest otherwise.
By the way everyone, just type in "paul speed" into youtube, and you'll be able to see all the new videos!

Even though I am pretty sure I already asked this a few years ago when I first joined,
I am having trouble finding the question or it's response here in the forums. So here goes.

How do I open that tab menu that shows all the q/a stuff in-game?
that menu that tells you how to jump and move and change block type.
That stuff.

edit: I figured it out. hold the (fn) button at the bottom and click F1.

I haven't even logged into the server in probably 6+ months.  I think you don't have any worries about me taking a peak. Smiley

As sad as it sounds, same here.  I've been trying to but my computer just doesn't run as well as it used to and crashes a lot on me. So I am trying to minimize doing multi tasking things on it to save it from crapping out on me so much.

So I can only occasionally go on the actual server now if I want to be here on the internet too or my computer will decide to glitch out or freeze on me and require a hard reboot.

Uhm... that was from 8 months ago... just thought you'd like to know.

Wow... Then I've really been offline for quite a while longer than I thought.
I better hurry up and get back on so I can see this unveiled masterpiece.

I haven't been on the game in awhile so Im not sure if this is still going on.  But if it is, how far along are you? I still cant figure out the directions good enough to figure out where you are. Though Im sure I will probably be able to see it once its finished given how big it will be.
