Hi, welcome to mythruna ;p about the new releases paul the maker has been busy figuring out and developing the ai town generation, paths connecting generated towns and things like that so that is a big part of the final game which is why it is taking a while. i haven't tried minetest but i hope installing mods is easier than with minecraft, i always found it annoying how we cant just run a .exe and have it installed. having to open .jars with programs like winrar just to get a mod always bugged me. ill check out minetest and maybe you could give me a link to your mod and ill see what its like ;p
You could try Minetest with just my Mod, but you really won't "get" minetest until you have at least 12 mods installed, and have played with a dozen more. All my mod does is add immersive sounds.

Mods are so simple to install in Minetest. You just unzip them and dump them into the Mods folder. The same thing goes for texture packs. It's a pain to install either in Minecraft. Plus Minecraft is so slow. You're probably gonna want at least a 64x texture pack if you are used to Mythruna.
The ideal would be if Mythruna made modding as easy as Minetest.
Right now, you just unzip things into the mods directory.
It will be better in the future with actual plug-in management, automatic downloads of plug-ins/updates, etc... I also have a plan to have a "mod store" where people can upload their mods for others to grab or where players can sell their quality mods. All of that hooked into the game so clients and servers can negotiate to make sure all mods are compatible, etc..
Right now it's just a bunch of files in a directory.
