Re. Linux flavour: Could the log files be saved in the game folder rather than the folder from which the shortcut runs?  I created a link to the .sh file on my desktop but it dumps all the logs there too.

Make an .sh file that changes directories before running the game... then link to that on your desktop.

The issue is that I don't know what the game directory is nor can I tell in time to let the logger know where to write.

This is really helpful since my home folder looks far from pretty with all the crash reports and log files. :S  Roll Eyes

for future reference, here's what my .sh looks like:

cd /home/sean/.mythruna/
java -jar /home/sean/.mythruna/1/Mythruna-20120627.jar
