Might be able to get a friend into this game if it's C++... But I'm coding language illiterate and don't know if it's C++ or not. I know it shares the C++ notation but don't know anything else.

The engine is written in Java. Most of the game logic is written in Groovy. C++ development takes about 10x as long.

It was last updated back in 99'. I guess it's popular because it's so stable because it never gets updated.

Actually, I guess C++ is updated more often than that. From time to time, I see tweets occasionally about people using/liking/hating some new language feature that was added.

I think the last update as 2012? I have C++ Redistribution 2012 on my computer, unless I don't understand what that really means. I have heard of a version being released in 2011, however.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%2B%2B11Seems like there is a 2012 update to the standards doc also... I don't know what, if any, language changes there are in the 2012 version, though.

Paul, I have the craziest idea: You should rewrite Mythruna to be in .NET, so only Windows users can play it!
