I get e-mail whenever a new account is created and I check every one of them.  I banned this user but not before you noticed. Smiley

<shrug> I ban on average one a day, I guess.

Looks like there are 42 pages of bans and there are 20 on a page.  Might be misleading because sometimes I put in more general rules (like every outlook.com e-mail address was a spambot or a spammer so I eventually just added *@outlook.com as a general ban.)

Man, when I used to moderate this one forum I had to ban at least 30 or more people a day, sometimes more than 100.

The clock hands captcha thing keeps most fake accounts away (and some real users unfortunately).  I had to ban a lot more before instituting that... and the spam was worse, too.

Like the one here with the clock hands you have to guess or something more conventional with an image of numbers/letters you have to decipher?

The clock hands seem to be different enough to foil the standard bots.

Ah, yes standard code. You know I've never seen the clock one before until now.

...and that's the only reason I think it works.  Just uncommon enough that bots aren't programmed for it.

It was just one of the plugins available for this forum.  Seems to work, though.
