I've had an idea for "loading music" rattling around in my head for a few months now... given the other interruptions going on in my life right now, I decided to work on it a bit yesterday.  A little more tweaking today and I have something that I don't hate:

At this point I need to sit on it for a while.  The mix needs some love but I'm too close to it to benefit it right now.

It would work well as music in a tense situation, but loading, it seems a bit... intense.

That said, I really like it. But it might be suitable for something else, I guess. Main menu music wouldn't be bad.

Loading menus are so intense though! That's when all the hype happens.

Yea, but if I'm starting new in the game, I would want something ambient, hehe. Maybe loading music for different situations though.

Or not so rare, if they're as hard to kill as Paul makes them out to be.

... And you just accidentally used an emoticon. xD

What I meant in the other thread was excessive use of emoticons. Hehe

Yeah, it's kind of meant to build tension before you are dropped into this world (potentially for the first time).

...I just wish I could get the mix right.  I may have to tap my sound engineer buddy for this one.  The instrumentation makes it tricky to make it sound right in all of my listening environments.

And note: the main menu already has music... it's the first song on this page:
http://www.simsilica.com/?page_id=23

...and it's in most of the book menu videos because it's playing in the background already. Smiley
