So, we've talked about this in passing, but after a cursory search through the forums, I've found that the process of creating potions has never been discussed in earnest.

Alchemy as a skill would likely have uses permeating nearly all aspects of the game. Medicines and ointments would be a given, as well as some of your run of the mill potions(balanced to suit mythruna of course), but what other chemicals would alchemy afford us? Enhanced explosives? Wood curing oil?

Additionally, how would alchemy be carried out? Would tinctures be prepared differently from potions like in real life, for example, or would the processes be largely the same?

Will potions be distinct? Like, in minecraft you have a strict set of potions that have precise effects, as well as distinct names. Would we follow those conventions or would potions be more of a 'trust the alchemist or trust your gut' kind of thing, where alchemists just label the potions?

Would we be able to make potions that had a variety of (albeit weaker) effects?

Would there ever be risk of "dangerous interaction" with herbs? For instance, some herbs effects are enhanced by alcohol so much so that they can cause illness. Since the strongest potions were made using extracts obtained with alcohol, would said herbs need to be processed without alcohol to prevent deletirious effects?

Will there be potion quality at play? For instance, if there is an herb that needs to be heated, would overdoing it or not heating it enough affect how the potion works(however minor that effect may be)? Would the quality of the herbs as they are being grown be important? Would extract quality for potionmaking be likewise important?

And lastly... And this is more for the novelty of it, but would players be able to consume reagents that aren't in a potion or tincture? I.e someone downs extract of nightshade instead of a proper potion of nightshade(and consequently dies horribly)
