It's been two months since the last release and progress seems slow in that light.  However, there have been lots of internal changes and a bit of polishing in other areas.

Plus, this is the one year anniversary of the first ever Mythruna release.  Oh how time flies.

There is a new download page now, also:
http://mythruna.com/?page_id=109

Highlights in this release:
    * Various memory-usage and performance improvements.
    * Player avatar now has hair and her head doesn’t stretch like an alien.
    * Separate stand-alone server download with a configuration and monitoring UI.
    * More unified scripting environment in single player and multiplayer.
    * Scriptable caves.
    * Servers can now specify a different world seed.
    * Refreshed the starting spawn town for new worlds with seed=0.
    * Fixed what looks to be a long standing fake-HDR bug where it would get stuck super-bright.

Detailed release notes here:

Hmmm Paul ?

I have a problem with the singleplayer mod.
I spawned at the bottom of the map, I see the castle and houses when I look up but I can't join it..
I have verified my drivers etc.. Smiley
In multiplayer, no problem..

Very nice.
Code:
Fixed a bug where the fake HDR would get stuck on high… making everything super-duper glowy.
By this do you mean everything won't be as like shiny where you can't look at the sand during day time in fear of blinding yourself?

Even if you run again in single player it does this?

It's usually a sign that the collision detection didn't have anything to collide with because the world was still generating.  Does jumping get you out again?

It depends.  Sand is shiny, even in real life.  Since there isn't real HDR in Mythruna I have to pick one sort of universal brightness for everything.  So I set the levels based on nature photography and my own experiences trying to photograph different places.  In real life, white sand is super bright-reflective.  It's just that when you spend a lot of time on it in real life, your eyes adjust and then you can't see when you go back inside or in the shade.  So I try to strike a balance.  You can see when you go inside and you can see when you are outside and landscape scenes look like that are supposed to when composed of many types of terrain.

Regarding the bug, there is a fake HDR that when you are very far out of sunlight then the brightness increases.  This makes the lights more glowy and any far away sunlit openings look cool and bright.  With the bug, if you spent a lot of time underground then the fake HDR got cranked way up making everything super-duper bright... then it wouldn't crank back down again.

Maybe someday I will give the player irises... then when you spend time in the desert and go back to the real world you will be nearly blind for some period of time. Smiley

You are probably deleting blocks.  If you delete a few around you then you can place a light.

What you are experiencing is very strange.

Can you see if there was an error log?

I have some people with the same problem :/
Just in single player

I don't have any error.log
When i place a light, I see texture around me but I don't detect block. No colision, no solid block etc.. A "camera"
Do you want a video?

No, I believe you that it is happening.  It's just that if there was an error log then it would point in a certain direction for the problem.

If you are at the bottom and carve out a place for yourself can you move?

ie: click the blocks around you until you have a cave, place a light, etc.

Actually, can you move even before that?

I have "created" a cave with left-click and a light but I cross blocks.. I see my cave but it's not present :/
I can move on the map at the bottom and I don't have any solid blocks

It's very strange but I will look into it.  You should be able to dig yourself out, though.  Clear the blocks around you and  under your feet.

Once you are not in solid walls anymore then you shouldn't be able to get back in.  If you can then there is something even stranger wrong.

Under my feet, I have the "Bed rock". The only solid block.
My character can move into the walls etc. Everywhere..
I have generated for 4 time a news map.
In Multiplayer (on Mythruna.com and in localhost), I have no problem.. It's strange..

Just trying to confirm....

You clear out a cave around you such that your feet are standing on the ground (and are not in the ground).  If you move around this cave then you can still walk through solid walls?

How about if you keep walking for at least 32 meters or more?  Do you eventually run into solid ground?
