When you said "I get written off to easily as "Just another Minecraft" that reminded me how I found this. Through a "Minecraft clones" Thread. Sad really. Anyway that was a nice and organized interview. Great job both of you!

For a CPU that would be really hot.... though intel chips still run kind of hot, I think. My 6 core AMD reads at 130 F sometimes... I don't watch my GPU temperature anymore. When I did, it was routinely hot enough to cook meat. Though getting to boiling point (100 C) would be pretty hot. I wonder what game would make the machine melt into a pile of molten metal and plastic bits. My CPU only gets to a maximum of 50c. It mostly stays at 40-45c. I can see the main reason of heating up more often on games is the resolution on my laptop. My desktop resolution is 1900x1200.

Yes for a graphic card, 85 C is fine. Many graphic card up to 95-100 °C.. Choose a Ventirad Ok ---> Out 85c on a dell XPS isn't good. if it gets to 95/90 it bluescreens. Btw 90C is 200Fº and 95 is pretty much the boiling point of water. 85 could probably give you 1st to 2nd degree burns. Maybe. *shuts off 3DS and goes to sleep*

That's bizarre. I assume you waited for all of the ** Loading ** to finish. The trees are way more resource intense than the grass... and the only difference is that the grass moves. Maybe when I finally make the trees blow in the wind we can see if that kills your performance also. Nope I don't have to sit on the loading screen... "Loading: 1" *Presses enter* *types /flora low* "Loading: 3" *loads really fast* Yay to chat while loading! Also my graphics card is BARELY compatible with GLSL 2.0... SO I have 2.1 . Im very happy i'm compatible with this game! I also had to type all this in on the 3DS (Nintendo). *gets off the internet on the 3DS and plays Mario Kart 7* gah it's late... I'll go to sleep instead...

I'll have to check, but I think so. and I can't play on Linux 'cause they don't even have drivers for my card. This is from my phone, so I can't check now.
Have you ever tried /trees low and /flora low in mythruna? If you've tried both and used them with no FPS boost or anything then your graphics card might be having trouble with other visual content in mythruna.

Last night I added some commands for nerfing the trees and flora. Realistically, the tree nerfing is the only one that will save people any FPS and still be a not-totally-ugly game. And it was a feature request from way back after I added the nice new leafy trees. This will go into the next version... basically there is a new command: /trees low Will set trees to low quality which means all trees (including pine trees) will be rendered with the old ugly green sponge blocks. This is considerably less geometry and will definitely increase FPS for some people. Given that you have other problems and that just looking at a wall is slow... I'm not sure it will help in your case. But I think the display drivers you run are old and buggy until I hear otherwise. Lighting should work fine, for example. On mine making trees ugly... Doesn't help FPS. Making grass turn into blocks... Hrmm LOTS BETTER! Also my drivers are up-to-date or so my Graphics card says... My graphics card isn't even compatible with DirectX 10 so it's a really... I'd say OLD graphics card... But it's worth it. Using F8 to change shaders fixes the lighting problem so the ugly shaders aren't really ugly. It's fine. *stares at trees* You don't effect my fps with your needly ways...

No Mythruna isn't better than minecraft. Due to compatibility, Performance, and other issues OF COURSE IT ISN'T... But yes it's getting there it's indeed getting there. I do render it somehow better than minecraft though... After playing it for like 2 hours I still haven't found a cave and i'm still excited in looking for caves and watching the beautiful landscape... Gawd it's so cool... I just wish my Laptop wouldn't overheat like dis... 85C was the max I played at on my gpu until I finally said "Well, that's enough.". I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THIS IS FINISHED! Good work on this game . Edit: I also love the early updating!.

Hello,
160 is good for construction etc.. If Paul increase the height, I think...performance will increase too.. For the New world.. It's a good ideas.. More liberty, no games end
Ciao
You're completely wrong, because i've tried different heights on minecraft. Guess what happened, It took too long loading the chunks it generates otherwise freezing the game. If you were to set the height on this it would turn down the performance but have an effect on the landscape as well. Because when I tried 524 oh jeez... Mountains with holes... So height map might be 194 in the future? Suggestion: VOLCANOS FTW.

I'm afraid it has to have a limit given the way I've architected it... but the build height limit in Mythruna is 159.
When there are flying vehicles then you will be able to fly higher than that (I think I will cap it at 200 just to be reasonable).
That's a very strange height limit... Minecraft has a smaller height and it is 128. Since people made mods for minecraft there have been ones that give minecraft 256,512,1024 block height limit. BUT 1024 takes too long to load chunks... How does mythruna load its blocks? Also NEW MAPS I would love to spawn in a new area .
