Wild speculation assumed. I would be a quester. Do more quest, get more money/reputation, buy more stuff, learn more skills, then build an empire.
17  General Category / General Discussion / Dev in training question on: January 17, 2015, 01:23:37 PM
So I have been on the long path of learning to develop gaming environments.
After playing with my rift dk2 and having the tools like unity and blender available I cant stop my self any longer.
I started with learning JavaScript and have moved on to unity tutorials.
I am writing this because Unity using people seem to have a hard on for C# and C++ and I wanted to ask someone like PSpeed why.
Seeing what mythruna can do with JavaScript and assuming JavaScript is the most convenient code to learn.
Why are there not more people making JS scripted game tutorials?
I tried jMonkeyEngine but I am still very confused by the way it is set up.
I would love if there where a jME tutorial for a voxel based game like Mythruna.
I'm getting Blender under control thanks to my hotkey cheatsheet.
I am starting to engineer a cool game idea but I need more 3d game mechanic in JS training.
I have made several 2d shooters and gone through many tutorials on YouTube.
Well, the beat goes on, later.

I'll prob kick some more your way when mythruna is more game like. Also, I would like to try my hand at modding for mythruna in the future now that I have some understanding of JS and game development. A minigame type mod I have mentioned before would be fun.
19  General Category / General Discussion / Pleasantly surprised on: January 05, 2015, 05:27:37 PM
So I took a break from learning unity3D to see if Mythruna still crashed on this PC today. When I would open the map it would crash java so I didn't log in for a long time waiting for an update. Good news is it doesn't crash any longer but the pleasant part is all the new builds around my property. I forgot how awesome this engine is. Paul I hope you are still thinking about this project. If I could, I would do it for you.

I don't find death pools offensive. Death is something that will happen to us all. The only problem is when you try to manipulate the death pool by helping someone die without their consent. In a way isn't life insurance for other people a death pool?

Beer is mine. Both of my parents have abused alcohol during my life so I have always held a negative view toward people who cant handle their drink or drink everyday. I have had regretful nights due to over drinking. I still love a good brew though. I try to only drink beer I make and I do not drink on a regular basis. I still consider it a guilty pleasure.

Ph00t is the only name I ever see talking about it. My bad. Go JME!

So I am a big fan of JME and virtual reality. Phr00t has been working on making JME work with oculus and he started his kickstarter today. Go check it out.

-Cheers to creators!

edit- I figured I would mention Mythruna uses JME for those of you that didn't know. Paul stated he followed Ph00t's Oculus integration. All hail open source Java Engines that can handle something as cool as Mythruna.
