Development / Concepts / Re: Mythruna "Story"

Mythruna could simply be an alternative universe that the occasional Earthling is teleported into by means of a ring, a wardrobe, a storybook, or a dream. These people could be from whatever time period you could think of, from Ancient Mesopotamia to the Modern USA. Humans would not be native inhabitants of Mythruna, but other species, including dwarves, elves, catpeople, etc., will be native. Because so many different cultures intermingle in Mythruna, there will be vast varieties of architecture, transportation, and culture in general. Time will not be consistent with Earth time in Mythruna. Maybe even inversely proportional. So in the distant future in Earth Time, Mythruna will be forming. But at the time of the Earth's formation will be Mythruna's destruction. Maybe Mythruna, as an alternate universe to that of ours, is almost like a mirror; everything backwards on the time spectrum. But idk.
Oh yeah, and organisms live a lot longer there; our life expectancy on Earth is approximately 80 years. But on Mythruna, because it is a more suitable environment for harboring life than Earth, maybe the perfect amount of Solar Radiation, our life expectancy would be 2000 years.
BOOM! Going nerd on yo' ass! Someone~ is a fan of Clive Staples Lewis. ... And are you hypothesising that the only reason we don't live to be multi-millenial beings is an imperfect quantity of solar radiation..? As opposed to Neural decay and occasional errors in our genetic makeup?

Well, I always love it when the 'peaceful' crafting bios actually work properly, which most online games ruin but Mythruna should be able to do that perfectly.
Also, make sure you have some good dreadlocks, and long hair in general. Best thing would be a lot of different options for hairstyles and faces, so you can get a lot of different looking characters.

Would everyone be so kind as to post the name of their account on the official MP server here? Mainly for my own personal mindset, I just like to know who's who. Mine's just Budehgong, btw.

Mmmh But how to conquer a city? To go through a 4 block depth stone wall you need something like 40 minutes...in 40 minutes an enemy player can kill the griefer, or simply stop the destroing...even more time is settable for destroing...in this way, during a city siege (15 players try to conquer a city defended by other 15 players, for example), defenders try to kill enemies, and attackers try to go through defenders wall...I think that this way discourages single "grifiers"(that destroy without reason), and encourages creation of community and cities...similarly to realty(sorry for the very bad english). Destroying I think is part of game and I hope that will be possible in this way....would bring a lot of strategy in game. I think once wars can happen in game, there will be some sort of special set of rules for certain situation. For now, let's just start with getting combat in game =p

13 year olds don't have to have a lot of money yet, at least not $50 to spend on a game. I, however, will be starting a job next week and will be donating shortly after

Scrolling shows different materials, then ctrl+scroll to change the block type. Not every material has all kinds of blocks yet, but there's enough to build some fun stuff. You can always ask around on the multiplayer server if anyone's online there.

I will have my laptop with me and I will try to keep up with the community and forums, at least. I will be able to remote into my home network to check on the servers and stuff. Any catastrophic hardware failures will be unfixable until I return sometime the following week. We'll keep ourselves entertained, you just focus on the actually important things. Honestly, I can't really think of something more serious and important than brain surgery, so there you go! Anyway, I think the entire community's thoughts are with you and your wife and children, and no one will argue that the game will just have to wait. Good luck!

will their be random npc encounters in town? examples thief trying to steal from you, drunken gathering or angry mob
I think that is a little far-fetched... Could be implemented as small, random quests you get at a random point after a certain level.

Obviously I have no knowledge of how the game works, but I had an idea like this:
Every registered player gets some sort of extra flag, which they have to put in their property within (let's say about) two months, and after those two months, all properties that don't have the flag (there should be some way to do automatically find all flags to make this work though, like a beacon that sends a signal) get deleted. If the player turns out to be inactive for a couple of months, there's still a big chance his buildings and stuff are still out there, so all he'll have to do is put down his stronghold again.

As you have probably noticed, the multiplayer is just spammed with strongholds built in times long forgotten, and abandoned since then. There are sometimes some incredibly strange (and IMO bad looking) constructions out there, built as experiments in time of boredom by 2-day accounts, now just sitting in the way of proper active players who want to expand. So, would you like it if those properties would be deleted if it's possible? I mean, properties would be deleted, but not what's built in them. That would be for the active players to do once it gets in the way. Also, some of these buildings, however forgotten, might just inspire new players to built a big city around them.
