By pressing "G" you can switch to game mode (press again to go to build mode)
Is there anything you can do in game mode but wander?

You can select blueprints from your "inventory" and put them in your hands, but you can't do anything with them. Not even placing them.

And actually there aren't any default inventory items since I added scriptable objects.

Game mode actually does work you just don't have any items and have no way of getting them.  It's there for modders to play with if they want to... but on the public server it doesn't really do anything at all.
