Side question first:
I noticed that the mythruna pre-alpha download under http://mythruna.com/download-now/ is marked 20120627 which by my brain say that the last update was on 27-06-2012

Have there been any releases since then?
(As I'm new to the community I'm a bit confused by it, and may have missed something)

Yes you are correct with the date, June 27 2012, was the last time there was a public release. I believe not too long ago there was a Donator test update, but Paul (the creator) is working on physics, world creation, new menus, ect., that takes quite a while, and he is the only one working on it so yea you can see some of his update videos at http://youtube.com/user/paulspeed/

Shzylo has it right.  I've been working on lots of stuff but none was ready for a release.

Around November, I decided to rework the engine a bit and finally get physics and some other things in... but mainly physics.  Lots of stuff has to come along with that, though and it's taking me a long time.
