Just a heads-up, some virus's don't activate as soon as they get on your computer. Some wait. Since Malware-bytes and other software I have haven't found a virus on my Laptop, I think it was just a registry problem.
Yeah, i bet a virus was set to activate on '12/12/2012'. Smiley
I almost went "The end of the world?!" But then I remembered it was on the 21st or something.
They probably set it on that date also.

very true. I've been dabling a bit to see what all I can do and there is quite a bit hackers can do. they can set their system to launch an automated attack at any given time, plant a virus that activates when you open your browser, etc. I'm glad my network is secure..... I'm kind paranoid now (more than usual Tongue ). being directly connected to my network, I tried to hack in and couldnt do it even with a hail marry attack so I'm well protected Cheesy

Nah, there's nothing wrong with hacking as long as it doesn't hurt others' lives.

Technically, that would be cracking, would it not?
Hacking is modifying something, but cracking is specifically trying to break through security measures.

DDOS'ing is considered hacking these days, so who knows...

Ok then, "Attempted hacking". No... "Attempted Cracking" would be better since It's like trying to break into a safe or something along those lines.

lol hacking is quite simply using something for anything other than its original purpose or exploiting a products weaknesses. not all hacking is illegal. cracking however is exploiting a products weaknesses with the intent of harming or altering it. most hackers hack systems just to see if they can but crackers (not racial) hack systems to steal information or money, destroy or alter the system, or a number of other reasons. Google is hiring hackers to hack their systems and help them patch security holes.
