Found an issue at the moment on Linux with ATI and java. I asked pspeed why it ran so poorly, well it's not anything wrong with the game appears to be with the ATI linux drivers. Does it in Runescape and a couple of other linux java tests I ran like bang. No to see if AMD/ATI fixes this.

Hopefully.  Their support of OpenGL has been a lot better the past few years... not quite up to nVidia levels maybe but certainly better than the "OpenG-what?" type of response from several years ago.

I wonder what the specific issue is.

Opengl is great i run Regnum and PLaneshift and they both work great. It works alot a better than my first Sager laptop with ATI and Linux. It actually loads and gives me the catalyst center.

Yeah, it's clear ATI is trying.  5 or 6 years ago or more their OpenGL support was laughable.

That's why the JME guys always stress the importance of updating drivers, especially with ATI.  Gotta have the latest fixes. Smiley

Ok new ATI linux driver downloaded and installed. Appears to make some difference. Will have to do some testing. I know I can play several opengl games it was just the java so more testing.

Grr.
I also hate ATI, I used one of their graphics cards, and I couldn't run a game from 1995.
