[/b]Hello. This is my very first topic at this forum. Grin . When I saw Mythruna at the Youtube Suggestions, I said "Wow, what's this? I think It's a new bad MC clone" And opened the video. At the first 25 seconds, I said "Wow I think this is the new release of MC" But I saw the EPIC things and my face is: O.o
I love this game but: FREEZES AT LAUNCH. I am too sad now.  Sad Cry[/b] Please help! I dıdn't get a crash, or a reaction. Only launch title. Closed from task manager.

At what point exactly does it freeze.  If you have a client.log or an error*.log then those are also useful to see.

If it only pops up the mythruna title and never gets to the settings window then it sounds like there is a problem running Java.

Do you have Java installed and if so what version?

Wow. There is a java update.Installed it. Now I will try to open it. Nope. It doesn't open. This makes me crazy. Its not a problem of java because MC works perfectly.Oh, and people from Youtube say that MC classic is better than Mythruna. But Mythruna is better than MC 1.8

It's very strange that it doesn't run and doesn't even get to write a log file or anything.

I will write a second post in a minute with details about how you might help track this down if you are willing to do a little legwork.

In the mean time, can you open up a command prompt and run:
java -version

...and tell me what it says?  Partly I want to check the version and partly I want to make sure that Java is accessible from the command prompt since my follow-up post will have instructions related to running Mythruna from the command line.

It says "Java version 1.6.0_29"
Java TM SE Environment (build1.6.0_29-b11)
Java hotspot client VM (build20.4-b02, mixed mode, sharing)

Strange. The things that I want so much didn't open. And another question: When Mythruna releases, will  I need to buy it to play?

Ok, that's at least good though.  The downside of the Windows .exe is that it ties some things up and makes debugging hard.  The linux version can be run from windows from the command line and will show us more information maybe.

So, if you are highly motivated, you can download the linux version of Mythruna and unzip it somewhere.  Open a command prompt, change to that directory where you have it extracted and run:
java -jar Mythruna20111017.jar

And we'll see what we see.  (Note: without some additional command line settings the game won't actually play but if everything is working it should get much farther before it fails... the menus and stuff should come up.)

And another question: When Mythruna releases, will  I need to buy it to play?

I will eventually charge for Mythruna.  The public "creative mode" server may always be free... certainly to those who already have accounts but the full game will cost money.  Probably somewhere around $15 US... but there may be specials from time to time or favors granted or something.

...whatever gets me to the point where I can afford to work on it full time. Smiley

At the rate I'm going, by the time I'm finished we may all be much much older. Wink

The Mythruna-Linux download is on the same page as the windows one.  And the only difference between it and the Windows one is that it's not all bundled up into an .exe.  Same code, etc..

And to be clear, if you download Mythruna-Linux20111017.zip and extracted it to something like:
C:\Downloads\Mythruna-Linux20111017

Then cd \Downloads\Mythruna-Linux20111017

You should see Mythruna-20111017.jar and a lib sub-directory, etc.

From there run:
java -jar Mythruna-20111017.jar
