I put together the page that describes the levels... even though you can't actually pay yet.

If you have any additional ideas then now is the time to put them forth.  After I show the text to a lawyer I will be a little more resistant to certain types of changes. Smiley

keep in mind that people will possibly want to buy features.
Like someone spends 5$ to try Mythruna out, then he wants to set up an official server.
Would be great to be able to buy features afterwards, adding options to your account later.

Yeah, totally.  This is just the donation levels anyway.  And as per another post, you put money in at whatever increment you want and the site calculates your level from the total that you've paid so far.

So if you pay $5 today and $5 tomorrow then you are at level 2 and so on.

But yes, when there are different things to buy you will be able to add them whenever.

Seeing as the subject has come up recently, perhaps a $75 level including a signed t-shirt would be good.

I thought about it.  The issue is that the t-shirts are all handled by someone else.  To sign it, I would have to have it shipped to me and then figure out how to ship it myself.  That's somewhat reasonable within the U.S. but really becomes a hassle for international orders... and most of Mythruna's users (so far) are international.

Also, while I get the shirts at a discount, everything but the cheap thin t-shirts costs me around $20 even if I order it myself (ie: without the commission to me).  So the $75 level doesn't become much more than the $50 level even if I didn't have to then reship it.

Wait... How will you be handling the servers thing... like where I have a login... and $5 is for all the version? if so I think you should raise the price tag...

Wait... How will you be handling the servers thing... like where I have a login...

If I understand your question correctly...

When the game supports it then it will ask you if you want to login when you first start (or when selecting multiplayer).  This will contact mythruna.com and "log you in" from the game's perspective.  When you connect to a game server, then you and the game server share some info and it also contacts mythruna.com to verify that it matches.

Then you select your character on that server and play.

The above requires a few game changes to happen so it won't be in effect right away.  And the changes to support the server list will probably appear at the same time as well as the initial rudimentary character creation and selection screen.

and $5 is for all the version? if so I think you should raise the price tag...

$5 does not get you the game when it is released.  It gets you an account and will get you $10 off the game.  It's a way of contributing minimally even though you will still have to fork over a little money when the game comes out.  If the game eventually sells for $15 then the $5 donator will still have to pay another $5... it works out to be the same as the user who donates $10.

I may raise the values of these donation levels when I eventually get closer to alpha to better align with the real prices.  It won't affect anyone who has already donated since I'll just bump up their levels for them.
