This forum deserves an Off Topic Award.
That's what happens with login troubles. Speaking of I cant remember my dang forum password but I dont want to rest it. What is the best/most secure way of keeping track of passwords now-a-days. An encryption written on a piece of paper locked in a secure safe.

Have you worked with windows 7 Paul?
The Windows 7 file explorer makes me want to hit things. It seems like the middle mouse wheel always works in the window I don't want it to... but worse yet, things jump around a lot while it decides how it wants to lay out and some of my clicks end up in the wrong place. Sometimes I can click something once... sometimes I have to click it repeatedly. The XP file explorer was pretty dismal. I didn't realize it could get worse. MS doesn't seem to understand multithreading a UI even slightly.

Why not reset it? I keep a pad of paper on my desk. Most of the time the writing is unintelligible and the passwords are just reminders... plus the organization sort of defies normal reason. It was weird because it seems like the day after I decided I had too many passwords in my head to remember and started writing them down, suddenly I have 20+ passwords to keep track of. I guess starting a business will do that to you. Seriously, if sites would remind me what the password requirements were when I go to login, I'd remember them 90% of the time. I don't know how many times I get to the password reset screen and see the restrictions and then suddenly remember. "Oh, yeah, this is the one that wants upper case and numbers but won't allow special characters..."

I have over 50 logins between all my personal and work stuff. I don't reset it because I'm auto logged on 3 computers. I switched browsers on my phone and cant seem to get the log in right. I know it is a regular pswd because I didnt record it and I have logged in with several other pcs. Ill get it sooner or later.

I had this problem on my mobile as well. I ended up going back and logging in from a browser somewhere else to remember the password because for some reason doing it on the mobile never worked out. Once I knew what it was then it worked fine, of course.

There, I split it. I would have moved it to the General discussion board, but I'm new to being a Mod (and Paul might not have given me that power)

It's probably not very smart of me, but I let Aurora (Firefox) keep track of all my passwords and just have a really strong master password.
