Follow this, I also recommend bookmarking:
High Level Roadmap

The order-of-events that I can even state for Paul will, or highly may not be absolute. Meaning the order of events can and will change over time.

ebag I am in just as much suspense as you about this game, as for the rest of us. Its just something that you have to be patient for, and remember, this is a one-man made game. It will take more time with only one person working on it.

It basically depends on how you sort it. This is what I know:

PHYSICS:
- Collision (objects, blocks, players)
- Gravity (objects, players)
- Animations (player walking, etc)
- Flowing Water (waterfalls, rivers, etc)
- Links (Rope, Springs)
- Pulleys
- Effects (Cloth, Explosions, etc)
- Network Physics (Multiplayer stuff)
- Superman Powers (flying/floating)

This is quite a bit for a one-man thing, once again its something that will take a long time to complete, it is a hard task, and I know it is (or I am just not that good at programming). You will have to respect how everything goes.

That's the full list to complete, not to finish. I don't know for sure what is in the new engine, so I can't really state that information for what is done.

The next release won't have a separate "game mode" like the version that's out now.  "Build mode" will basically just be infinite resources and a disintegration wand function.  So your build wand can remove blocks without having to dig them out.  So, it's not a matter of "game mode" versus "build mode" anymore... it's a matter of what tools you have when you start and what plugins are activated for a particular world.

I know that the next version will definitely have inventory and will definitely have some level of physics engine.  The latter of which turns out to be a huge can of worms.  It has a domino effect and I'm not sure where I get to stop pulling and call it "ready".  Just getting the player to move like before but with real physical forces starts a whole chain reaction of stuff.  The plus side is that I'm forced to do a lot of stuff I wanted to put off.  The down side is that means I have to do a lot more stuff before I can release again.

I still have to reimplement or port a bunch of stuff to still have equivalent functionality from the old engine... for example, I still need to port properties, blueprint editing, etc..  And networking.  Multiplayer is still missing in the new engine though the code is all cleaner now so it should be simpler than it was last time.  The physics networking still has not had a proper engine test, though... just that one test with the balls rolling around in a network loopback.

k thanks for the information, nice to know that we will be able to do stuff with our inventory RELATIVELY soon
also i wonder if your physics engine will allow me to bang stuff around and ends stuff flying like in gmod  Tongue
